Impressions
The day started out with thick fog. Without any sun, there was no way the tent would dry out even a little. So I had to pack everything up while it was still soaking wet.
After 10 km on my bike, I reached Ribe, the former capital of Denmark. At 9 a.m., the beautiful old town was still pretty sleepy, and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see the inside of the Viking Cathedral.
From there, I headed almost directly toward Flensburg. Unfortunately, it had also started to rain, and I felt like I was riding on the only road in Denmark without a bike path.
So on my last day in Denmark, I struggled along the road through the rain. Unfortunately, that wasn’t what I’d imagined. But at the same time, I was glad that I hadn’t had to ride in such conditions during the rest of my trip so far.
So I covered the distance relatively quickly to spend the evening with friends in Flensburg. We wrapped up the evening together with three delicious fish sandwiches in good company.
From Flensburg, I’ll take the train to Cologne, where, after two days of rest, I’ll start my journey home along the Rhine Cycle Route.
