Impressions

After wrapping up yesterday evening around a campfire with some Danish hikers, I set off this morning under bright sunshine.

At first, I followed the wrong route on my GPS and ended up riding 15 km inland. Fortunately, that didn’t send me in the completely wrong direction—it just cost me a few kilometers of the West Coast Bike Trail.

So, until my lunch break, the route mainly followed gravel roads through beautiful dunes and forests.

After lunch, a tailwind and some Limp Bizkit somehow caused me to lose all inhibitions. From there on, with music blasting in my ears, I continued full throttle toward the south. It felt like I rode the last 70 km at a speed of over 30 km/h until I reached the ferry terminal. If there hadn’t been a ferry, I’d probably still be flying through the dunes.

As a result of this long day’s ride, I ended up at a campground where I’d been with Jonas two years ago. Here, I was able to take a hot shower, do my laundry, and recharge my batteries. I also met Dirk, with whom I spent a nice evening on the beach.
